This is the most powerful and yet easiest part of the program to use. No other software package allows so easy and versatile a method of planning to a point on a well. Within a very short time the user will wonder how they
managed without it. The screen provides for multiple section projections while continually calculating the requirement to reach any of the selected targets. The planning grid allows to plan in a constant 3D arc, a 3DJ profile or 3DS to a defined inclination and azimuth, with or without a final tangent section. Dog leg severities can be scrolled with real time calculations giving the requirements to reach any point in the well. Targets can be shifted during planning calculations with the altered point shown on a target plot while the requirements to reach this point is constantly updated in the planning grid. The tedious operation of entering changing dog legs and target points becomes something of the past. All calculations are in realtime and when the survey data page is updated the planning page will automatically show the current planning requirements. An intermediate planning point can be included with automatic calculation to the selected target continuing. Various entry options exist to reach this intermediate point and, once sufficient data is has been entered, the program will complete all the required values. |
